the story

Just two years after losing her leg in a shark attack, Ali will run the NYC Marathon on November 2, 2025.

After the shark attack and amputation, I thought my running days were over. Running had been my therapy and my joy, but the thought of learning to run again on a prosthetic felt impossible. But with a running blade, a lot of work and incredible support, the impossible started to become possible. Now just two years later, I’m running the New York City marathon alongside 11 of my closest friends and family to raise funding for prosthetics for women and girls so they can run too!
